          WHAT GOD HAS PROMISED

God has not promised skies always blue, Flower-strewn pathways all our lives through, God has not promised sun without rain, Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.

But God has promised strength for the day,
Rest for the labor; light for the way,
Grace for the trials, help from above,
                   Unfailing sympathy, undying love.

"My mission is not to indicate to the world the material punishments which will certainly happen if the world does not pray and do penance beforehand. Bo! My mission is to indicate to everyone the immediate danger we are in of losing our souls for all eternity if we remain obstinate in sin."                                                              - Sister Lucia of Fatima

"The Holy Spirit is fire; whoever is filled with the Holy Spirit ought to inflame others."                                                         - Saint Teresa of Avila

"Beginning well is of great importance; but it means nothing if we do not preserve."
                                                                 - Saint Peter Chrysologus

"If the Son is a King, the Mother who begot Him is rightly and truly considered a Queen and Sovereign."
                                                                   - Saint Athanasius

"And whence comes our pride if not from our forgetfulness of the Eucharist - that pride which finds cause for self-exaltation in the graces received, in the gifts of God, in our circle of holy and virtuous friends, or inthe influence we perhaps exercise on souls? Are you affected with this pride when you communicate, when you feel within you the presence of Jesus, Who says to you, 'What! You exalt yourselves with the dignities and the graces I have given you, with the privileged love I bear you! But see, I annihilate Myself. Do at least as I do.'"
                                                                   - Saint Peter Julian Eymard

"Our faith is worthy of praise only when our deeds do not contradict the words we say."
                                                                   - Saint Gregory the Great

"As long as I know there are people in the world who do not love God, I can not rest."
                                                                   - Saint Francis Xaiver

"...[W]hatever man may have, even though he main gain the entire world, he is still poor and wretched if he want God, Who alone can fill up the bosom of his soul; and, on the other hand, he who possesses God, he has everything."
                                                                         - Saint Robert Bellarmine

"The greatest of all evils is not to be tempted, because there are then grounds for believing that the devil looks upon us as his property.."
                                                                        - Saint John Marie Vianney

"If you are what you should be, you will set the whole world on fire."
                                                                         - Saint Catherine of Siena

"You must all stand fast in the faith and love one another. And do not be weakened by what we have gone through."
                                                                         - Saint Perpetua

"For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted."
                                                                         - Apostle Matthew

"In the presence of a significant life, we behold not only our own life as it is but possibilities and potential for the future."
                                                                         - Anthony Padovano

"A man who governs his passions is master of the world. We must either rule them, or be ruled by them. It is better to be the hammer than the anvil."
                                                                         - Saint Dominic

"...There can be no more effective way to pray for this spiritual growth than for the Church, itself Christ's body, to make the offering of his body and blood in the sacramental form of bread and wine. For the cup we drink is a participation in the blood we break is a participation in the body of Christ..."
                                                                        - Saint Fulgentius
